chair's comments

Wow!!  November was a busy month for Ennead.  First, we had the New Members’ party which was well attended by our current members and a slew of prospective members.  Although a number of people made the event a success, special thanks go to Jim Driscoll and Betty Reschenberg.  Also, special thanks to Andy Anderson and others for the great food that we had.  Barbara Jamison and Dee Dee Hodovsky handled the decorations.  Ennead thanks all of you and the many others who helped but are too numerous to list.

Santa's Elf, Charles Crumby
Ennead Chairman

Next on the calendar was the Thanksgiving Pot Luck.  Enough food to feed several small countries!  A very special Thank You to Vickie Rivers who agreed to host this function on short notice due to Holly Randolph’s accident.
A brief mention about our Fund Raising activities for the coming year.  One of the ways that the Krewe will be raising money for Carnival’s Children’s Charity Initiative is by the sale of merchandise, specifically thermal mugs and shirts with Ennead imprinted on them.  Marta Vinzant – who also does our Newsletter and weekly e-mail – is generously donating her time and artistic abilities to the design and imprinting of the items.  Between doing our Newsletter and now the merchandising, she is donating a significant amount of her time so that we can better function as the best Krewe in Carnival.
Please remember about the dues increase.  The dues for 2007 will be $275.  However, if your check is received by December 31, the amount due is only $250, the same price as for 2006.  For this just to be December 1, a relatively large number of checks have already been received by our Treasurer.  So, pay by December 31, and save $25.  It is that simple.
December is another busy month with the holiday season and the parties that we will all be attending.  Please be careful.
We continue to look for a Photographer.  Please call me if you are interested.

                                                            Merry Christmas!

ennead tidbits (toot your own horn!)
Plan for the Second Annual Memphis Mike Holiday Happenings Happy hour coming Friday Dec. 1 from 6 to 8 pm at the Camel. This is a gathering of friends, yours and mine.  Last year, over 200 people stopped by to say hello.
There will be happy hour music and happy hour drink prices- $1 off mix drinks until 8 pm. It will be a great time to meet and get together with your friends before the parties of the Christmas season begin and your friend's schedules get jammed. So be sure and invite them to come along and play. I will try to round up a couple of Christmas giveaways (let me know if you have any - that's my way of rounding up). Great way to start the night and the Holiday season.  If you decide to stay, Java will be playing at 9 pm. Feel free to pass this note on to all
your own email lists. The more the merrier. No RSVP's required. Fine time to meet and greet. Also it is the
30th anniversary of the Cockeyed Camel.
