We had a BOO-tiful Halloween Party. We had a great turnout and, as always, the members and our guests outdid themselves with their frightful best. Congratulations to our costume award winners!! There are “Thank Yous” in order: Belinda Pittman, Decorating Chairman, and all the volunteers who helped transform The Barn into our “haunt” for the night, to all who helped with the food preparation and bar set-up, and to those who stayed to clean up after the party. 

Our New Member Recruitment Party is rapidly approaching, and it is imperative that you get the prospective member information to Vickie Rivers so an invitation can be sent out. Please remember-THIS PARTY IS FOR  MEMBERS ONLY AND INVITED GUESTS. MEMBERS ARE NOT TO BRING DATES. INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE NOT MEMBERS AND NOT ON THE “ INVITED GUEST” LIST WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THIS PARTY. (Details of the party are elsewhere in this newsletter.) This is the krewe’s opportunity to share with our guests how unique Ennead is as social group comprised of legally single professionals with diverse interests who choose to spend time with one another throughout the year at a vast array of monthly gatherings which include Carnival Memphis events and fundraisers for the Children’s Charity Initiative. 

Because everyone’s holiday schedule gets so hectic, be sure to check out the calendar for what Ennead has planned. The Wine Party/Liqueur Tasting will be held at John Goodyear’s and our annual Thanksgiving Pot Luck will be at Vickie Rivers home. The small groups will be meeting at their usual times of the month, and don’t forget Movie Night. In December, The Christmas Gala will be held at the Memphis Country Club. I encourage everyone to purchase tickets for the elegant steak and lobster dinner prior to the dance. Your check is your reservation and can be given to any board member. Reservations need to be made by December 1st. Ennead ushers in Carnival Memphis 2008 with our Coronation on January 19, 2008, at the Holiday Inn, University of Memphis when our wonderful Royal Court will be presented to the membership, guests and the other Krewes. The Board has voted to hold a Fundraiser in 2008 and information about that will be in future newsletters. 

Last but not least, the Ennead Board has approved the budget for 2008. Member dues for 2008 will be $275.00 payable by December 31st. Expenses continue to rise, and in order to maintain the number and quality of our parties, this amount was deemed necessary and reasonable by the Board.
