Chairman's Comments

Dear Krewe, 

Awesome!!!  The Krewes raised over $55,000.00 for Memphis Oral School for the Deaf, Streets Ministries and Youth Villages.  Everyone in Ennead helped raise the money.  Enneadians have stepped up to the plate again and hit a home run.  To every one of you who had a part in this great effort, we want to thank you.  For those that did not participate this year, join us next year.  It is a way of giving back a little bit to the community and helping others who are less fortunate that we are. 

Carnival Memphis started with a blast with Crown and Scepter Friday night at Memphis Hilton.  Our Royalty represented Ennead in the best of fashion with poise and dignity. All of Ennead should be proud of this.  Carnival week is for all members of the Grand Krewes, not just the Royalty.  The events are a lot of fun, meeting members of other Krewes, dancing and partying with a purpose!   

Ennead Club Room is Wednesday June 3rd at Holiday Inn University at seven pm.  Are you ready to rock and roll?  Let’s dance with the “Legends of Rock”!  Admission is free to members and $35.00 for guests.  It is a great party and a wonderful way to introduce prospective members to Carnival Memphis and Ennead.  Come join us.  You will be glad you did.     

You as members of Ennead are invited to all Carnival events.  You are welcome and will really enjoy the festivities.  A schedule of parties is listed in this newsletter for your information.  Let’s party!!!

 Hosted by Barbara Baker - 358 Leonora -  483-7365-  Spades and Poker have re-organized into Spoker. (That means we play both spades and poker.) Please contact  Barbara Baker (bbaker483@comcast.net) for more information or suggestions. Bring your beverage as well as an appetizer and/or dessert. This is a good time to introduce prospective members to Ennead.

 We need all the membership to recruit quality members for Ennead. Board of Directors Ballot- August 8
At the annual business meeting, Saturday, August 8, Ennead will elect six new board members, three women and three men. Those nominated are:  Mike Beck, Carl Boggs, Julie Eaves, Sandra Hurley, Shirley Lawson, Donna Mikeal, Mike Miles, Tayloe Nickey, Dan Tucker, and Shirley Wyatt. The candidates' pictures and bios will be in the July newsletter.  Those rotating off the present board are:  Robie Hoffman, Mary Rea, Nancy Williams, John Goodyear, Bob Laurie, and Dallas Moore.
