I have been a member
of Ennead for almost seven years. For the past year, you may have seen
me with my camera capturing the fun and magic of our social activities.
A native
Memphian. I hold both a BBA and an MBA in Finance, Insurance & Real
Estate from the U of M. My employment includes over 20 years in
management of finance & accounting (over 17 years at Treadwell & Harry
Insurance Agency), and I am currently the Controller of a small
privately owned company. My board experience includes being a Founding
Officer and Board Member of the Financial Management Association Chapter
at U of M and I am currently the Financial Secretary of Women in
Technology MidSouth.
One of my gifts
is to figure out how something works and then find ways to improve it.
Ennead is a wonderful organization with a great group of people. To
maintain our membership, we should nurture each member which, in turn,
will encourage others to join. Our membership should become more active,
not only in our social activities, but in sharing the responsibilities
of our organization. Everyone has something to contribute—time,
talents, and new ideas.
For me, Ennead is
like an extended family. It has been a blessing to be able to make new
friendships. My belief is that we all need to give something back to the
community. I am proud to be part of Ennead because they raise money for
needy charities and am also an active member of the Germantown Charity
Horse Show, STARS, and several other charitable organizations.
I have high hopes
for Ennead and, if elected, look forward to working with the rest of the
board to ensure that Ennead continues to be the BEST Krewe. |

I have been a member
of Ennead since 2001 and presently serve as Chairman of the Calling
Committee. I have also assisted on the registration desk and
decorating committee for various Ennead functions; participated in
several Black Tie/Tennis Shoe skits; and was privileged to serve as a Duchess on the
2007 Royal Court. Being on the Royal Court gave me an opportunity to
meet members of other Krewes, and I encourage others to serve on the
Court if given the opportunity. In addition to being a member of
Ennead, I am a member of STARS; a volunteer for Memphis in May for the
past 10 years; and currently serve as Treasurer of my Sunday School
Class.
I was previously employed by an insurance company, and one of the areas
in which I excelled was organizational skills. Now that I am retired, I
have the time and energy to devote to this endeavor.
I am glad to be a nominee for the board and if elected, I will
encourage members to participate and get involved at various Ennead
events. I would appreciate your vote, and I will do all I can to support
the "party with a purpose." |

I would like to represent you next year on
the Ennead Board of Directors. I have been an active member in Ennead
since 2002. I currently serve as a Caller, helped out on the
Registration Desks, and am responsible for our Wine Tastings. I have
also been a volunteer for the Memphis in May Bar-B-Q. This year I was
chosen to be a Duchess on the Royal Court. I participated in Black Tie
and Tennis shoe skit and the mini float skit which we placed 1st
in both.
As a life-long resident of Memphis, I took early
retirement in 2003 from FedEx after 19 years of service. I continue to
work part-time as a Retail Associate. I have truly enjoyed being in
Ennead and have made so many lasting friendships. There are so many
great activities to do, and I try to attend as many as I can. If
elected, I will work hard to improve these activities and see the future
of Ennead get better. I really do care about Ennead, and want our
memberships to double while continuing our fund raising efforts for
Children’s Charities. I am asking for your vote!

After
six years in Ennead I somehow feel it is not the same club that it
was…nor should it be. Members come and go with their own preferences but
the central theme of the Krewe should remain the same, a social milieu
for single people to access Carnival Memphis in an atmosphere of
inclusion. In furtherance of that end, I am running for our Board of
Directors. I see this as a working position not a status symbol. We need
a program for recruitment, one for retention, one for activation, and
one for on-going PR. Ennead is NOT dying and those who are leaving
should leave the lights on!!! |

I
appreciate the consideration for a board position. Being raised in
Memphis, I attended Messick HS. College completed at Abilene Christian
Univ. I earned a DDS from UT College of Dentistry.
My
experience basically involves practicing dentistry. I am retired from
the Army where I commanded three units and attained the rank of Colonel.
I recently retired from the US Justice Dept where I managed two of their
dental clinics. I feel I have far more than adequate administrative
skills.
Fortunately, I now have time to engage in more activities that I
personally enjoy. Ennead is definitely one of these. I have appreciated
multiple aspects of our krewe, not the least of which is the opportunity
to interact with an interesting group of people, who are doing a great
job for Carnival and their community. At the present I am serving on the
Professional Advisory Board of Concorde Career College. I have been a
patron of various local entities to include WKNO, GPACC, IRIS, MSO, one
local church and a college. Questions and challenges concerning our
krewe will need to be dealt with. Our answers will determine our future. |

I
have been in Ennead for over ten years and I think I have a good idea
what the club is about. In the past I have been bar and beverage
chairman, tennis chairman, and webmaster for Ennead. I served on the
board from September 2006 until October of 2007, and I served as an
Ennead Duke in 2004. I have worked on several Black Tie and Tennis Shoe
skits. I think that the board tries its best to run a good club for the
members. I would appreciate your vote.

Born
in the Mississippi Delta, my dancing career began in a 'juke joint' of a
plantation cotton field. I have since fused that dance style with some
ballroom dance.
My B.S. degree was obtained from Ole Miss with a double major in
biological sciences and PARR...TYY...ING!
As a technical representative with a dental supply company, I maintained
accounts in five states. Since 1994, I have operated my own small
business, retaining most of the customers from my previous job.
I am on the decor committee for the Blues Ball, and have been on the
past auction procurement committee for the Memphis Heart Gala. As part
of the cast on the winning BTTS skit the past two years, I have also
helped to win the mini-float contest (Ramet clubroom) and best booth
(Phoenix games) as a duke with my beloved fellow court members this
year.
I love to dance and party, make a decent leprechaun, and would like to
see all of Ennead become more exciting. There should always be great
anticipation and good participation in all events from Coronation
and Mardi Gras to Carnival week and Halloween. My concern would be to
keep elegance in the formal functions and more frivolity at the
informal ones. We only live once!! |
