  • Marta's Memo

Autumn brings about thoughts of falling leaves, pumpkins, goblins, football, and change.  Right now, change is most prevalent on my mind.  Your board members are mixing it up and injecting our social schedule with lots of change…not to say that we are ditching tradition, just giving it a new twist here and there.

We are moving our Halloween party to Rhitt’s place this year and The Grand Krewe of Ptah is co-hosting this party with us, so it will be bigger and better!  Invite all your friends to the Halloween Bash because it is going to be spooktacular!

Our Party and Membership committees are putting together a fabulous New Member Recruiting Party next month.  River Oaks Grill, former Camel location on Poplar, is allowing us to have the restaurant for our party.  We can put together a fabulous party, but we need qualified prospective members to attend to make it a success.  This is where you come in….everyone bring a guest who is interested in joining the best Krewe in Carnival Memphis.

I want to take this opportunity to thank our members who open their homes for the monthly wine parties.  These parties are not only fun for our members, but also provide a golden opportunity to invite and get to know prospective members.  Last month we incorporated a birthday celebration with the wine party and I think it was a big hit!  We will be celebrating at Fontaine’s this month so be sure to come downtown for the wine party.  Thank you Annette and Ellen!

Our new book club got a slow start this month, so we are still reading Magnificent Desolation by Buzz Aldrin.  This month we will be showing the companion DVD, discussing the book, and selecting a new book for next month.  If you enjoy reading, please come join the group.

Our board meetings are the second Tuesday of each month and we are always open to suggestions and concerns from the membership.

Susan Hanlon is retiring from her position as Editor and I can't possibly thank her enough for her dedication and all the hours she has poured over each issue.  Thank you so much for keeping us informed over the last few years...I hope it was as rewarding an experience for you as it was for us.  Thank you, Michelle, for taking on this huge important job.

The fall is shaping up to be a whirlwind of fun things to do.  No matter what you like to do, there is always something for everyone to enjoy with Ennead friends.

    See you there…..

    Marta
