Marta's Memo

I have never seen so many great costumes than at our Halloween Party!  WHAT A GREAT PARTY!  Everyone seemed to have a fabulous time and wasn’t it great to share the experience with Ptah.  We are hoping to do more parties with other krewes in the future.  And speaking of great parties….the member recruiting party was the BEST!  I must say great big thanks to the following people who worked tirelessly to make these parties successful: Dan Tucker, Marion Marr, Nancy Enochs, Don Chenault, CC Myers, David Brockmann and his membership committee members, Mike Miles, Tayloe Nickey, and Walt Henley, the many folks who helped with registration and decorations, and the rest of the board members.

I want to give special recognition to Shirley Lawson, our Calling Committee Chairman, and all the callers who are so faithful to keep in touch with our members; you all are doing such a great job and it is greatly appreciated.

Thank you Marion, for hosting our November wine party.  It was so nice of you to share your home with this group.  This month, the Book Club is hosting the wine party at the home of Barbara Baker.  In addition to the usual food and wine, we are asking you to bring a children’s book to donate to one of our Children’s Charities this year. The Book Club will resume in January with an exciting new book.  Look for more details in this newsletter and more information on fundraising and volunteer opportunities.

The Christmas Pot Luck Supper is a “members only” party, giving our members the opportunity to spend this special time with each other.  Be sure to check with Mary Pat on what to bring to Annette’s home.  Thank you so much, Kathy, for hosting our Thanksgiving Pot Luck Supper.  I think we are all still full from that wonderful meal.

Don’t forget to make plans to attend our Christmas Gala and Dinner at the Memphis Country Club on December 12th.  This is a special time of year and a special occasion to don your finery, dine and dance to a fabulous band, Swing Time, with Tom Prestigiacomo and Jo Jo Jeffries.  Your check is your reservation for dinner.  Deadline for reservations is November 30th

Joe Chamoun and Carolyn Mayo are having a New Year's Eve party at Joe's home in Collierville.  There is more information about this in the newsletter.  There is no better way to ring in the new year than with good friends.

With the end of the year arriving quickly, please remember to send in your Ennead dues by January first.

Warmest thoughts and best wishes for the holidays and a very happy new year!

Marta
