Chair's Comments

Greetings all Ennead Members! 

     Warmest congratulations to King Ennead, James Driscoll, Queen Sahara McKay Clark and their Royal Court!  Those of you who missed the Coronation,  missed a fantastic celebration.  Eddie Harrison and the Shortkuts played to the wee hours of the night. Almost everyone stayed and danced the night away!
     February means Coronation!  Hope to see all of you attend at least one or more of the Coronations of Ptah, Sphinx and RaMet.  These events give us a chance to support other Krewes and are a vehicle to show our new members and prospective members what Carnival Memphis is about!
     Our Krewe’s ship is docked and the Mega Fundraiser, jointly hosted by ten Grand Krewes and Carnival Memphis is April 18th. We are pleased to announce that we are having multiple bands perform at the University Club.  Proceeds from the event will benefit Memphis Oral School for the Deaf, Streets Ministries, and Youth Villages.  Be sure to tell all of your friends.  The event is just around the corner and we will need ALL HANDS ON DECK!  Your participation is what makes these events enjoyable and successful.   Order tickets online at www.carnivalmemphis.org. 
     Thank you Barbara Baker and Coronation volunteers for your generosity and many months of work.  Have you ever thought of yourself as a gift?  You are!  You made our 19th Coronation a memorable, wonderful event. We celebrate you!
     This is your organization!  Ennead has many activities attractive to new members.  Getting involved in one or more of these areas of interest is not only easy but rewarding. We have something for everyone.
     David Brockmann has done an impeccable job as membership chairman.  We need to continue to give him our support in increasing our membership.  Our members are the life blood of Ennead!
     Mardi Gras Mask Party - The fun and madness is upon us!  It’s time for masks and beads. The person with the best mask will win a prize. Come and enjoy light snacks and open bar at Silky Sullivan’s February 27!  Let the good times roll!

Annual Dues are due! Mail payment of $275 to Grand Krewe of Ennead, P.O. Box 17265, Memphis, TN 38187-2165 or give to a board member. If you used the the 2-payment plan, the other 1/2 + $5 was due Feb. 1.

We will be starting on the membership directory immediately after the new year so that we can deliver them in a timely manner.  We need your help, though.  Please check the data base information for yourself to see that the information we have is correct.  Go to the bottom of the page and click on "update your account" and verify that all the information is correct, if not, please correct it.  This is the information that will go into the directory.  If you have any problems or questions or want to submit a new photo, please contact Marta Vinzant at marta@ennead.info.
