Chair's Comments Dear Krewe, Greetings! If you missed the February Mardi Gras Party at Silky O’Sullivan’s last weekend, you missed one of the best parties of the year. Piano players and the sounds of laughter filled you with a sense of excitement. Immediately, the aromas of food made you hungry. Friends were everywhere. Colorful masks and beads couldn’t hide their delighted smiles. The festive glow of the decorations were as a sure bet to make the party fun! Many thanks to those who simply joined in the fun. Special thanks to Decorating Chairman, Belinda Pittman and Registration Chairman, Marion Marr. Great job! All of the Krewe’s Coronations are black tie gala affairs offering an exquisite evening of fabulous food, entertainment and dancing. This year, we have seen some of the most creative themes and decorations imaginable. Cheers to the Krewes and their Royal Courts! We are so lucky to have so many wonderful friends in Carnival. Don’t miss the last two Coronation Balls of the season, Phoenix and Ptolemy. This could be your best chance to meet some of the nicest people in the world! Watching a parade is great but riding in a parade is an incredible experience! Ennead’s Royal Court, Memphi, Ptolemy and Sphinx are excited because they are all riding in the Beale Street St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Marion Marr designed a float and built a shoebox size copy for our Krewe and it is a winner! Don’t you dare miss the fun helping build the Ennead float, walking in the parade and partying with the gang on Beale Street! The Soul Outsiders are playing on the patio at Silky O’Sullivan’s so we can party down after the parade! Let’s not forget our prospective new members. We need to bring one or two of our friends to our Club Room in June and introduce them to Carnival Memphis and Ennead. Let’s start working on increasing our membership with qualified prospects, now. The “Krewes for Kids” Mega Fundraiser is April 18. The University Club holds 600. Tickets are on sale now. Experience great live entertainment, a feast of appetizers and the harmony of friends, fun and frivolity. Everyone needs to participate. Get a sponsor, bring an auction item, ask restaurants to benefit charity donate time and food. Contribute by joining in with us and the other Krewes to make this a grand fundraising party. Everyone needs to do their part and help our selected children’s charities. Working together, we can make this a HUGE success and a Memphis tradition. May God bless you! Love, Robie |

St. Patrick's Day Parade and Float News- All Hands on Deck!
I have been working to pull together the St.
Patrick's float. I have made a model of the float so everyone can see what
the finished product should look like. Some of you guys and have already
seen it. Larry Rice has offered a trailer for us to cover with glitter and
glue. David Brockmann and Robert Stoker have volunteered to create the frame
work so we can make this happen. Jimmy Dodds has agreed to pull the float
for Queen McKay. He has a green truck and it blends in well in the parade.
This year we are combining our fundraising efforts with all the other krewes of Carnival Memphis. We are planning a fun, exciting event that will include music, dancing, food, libations, and a silent and live auction. The event will be held at the University Club on Saturday, April 18 starting at 7 pm. We are raising money for 3 deserving children’s charities: Memphis Oral School for the Deaf, Streets Ministries, and Youth Villages. We want to encourage every member to take part in this fund raising effort because that is our motto….”party with a purpose”! Here is how you can help. Revenue: Marta Vinzant marta@ennead.info Tickets are on sale now at a discounted price for this event. You can order online at www.carnivalmemphis.org
