Marta's Memo Can you believe it? 2010!! One of my New Year’s resolutions is to have more fun this year than I did last year…..can that be possible? You bet! I predict that all of our members will be able to keep this New Year’s resolution.
Thank you Dan Tucker and Billy Britton for producing the most beautiful, elegant, and fun Christmas Gala I have ever attended. Special thanks go to Marion and her registration committee and to Julie Eaves who did such a great job at keeping the money and reservations organized. I have gotten mixed opinions about the band, but the overall concession was it was the perfect choice for this elegant affair. We are trying to organize our parties so that they have a variety of entertainment and themes. If you have any suggestions about our future parties, please don’t hesitate to step forward, contact Dan Tucker and join the party committee.
Thank you, Barbara Baker and the Book Club for hosting our December wine party. It was so nice of you to share your home with this group. Many children’s books were brought to donate to our children’s charities. The new book for January is The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. You still have time to read this book before the Book Club meeting on Jan. 21st. I just finished it....quite exciting!
The first Carnival Cares volunteer project at SRVS was a success. Ennead was well represented and we raked leaves and cleaned up the new location. Be sure to contact Barbara Baker about any fundraising or volunteer projects you might be interested in.
The Christmas Pot Luck Supper was held at Annette Hamilton’s home. Thank you so much, Annette, for hosting. I believe a great time was had by all.
Don’t forget to make plans to attend our Coronation on January 23rd. Come enjoy this elegant affair and fasten your seatbelts for this season’s “Magic Carpet Ride.” You don’t want to miss this event as we introduce our new royal court for 2010. The Holiday Inn is offering a special room rate of $119 for that night. Be sure to mention Ennead when you make reservations. The Royal Court invites you to join them for brunch at the Holiday Inn the following morning at 11 am. Cost is $25 per person. This event takes many volunteers....please step forward and volunteer your time and/or talents.
I’d like to encourage all of you to join our royal court in attending other krewe coronations and Carnival events. This is a great way to get to know members of other krewes.
Don't forget to pay your dues! Membership in Ennead is still a bargain......all this fun for only $275 per year!
