From the Chairman Who is at the
top of your Christmas shopping list? – YOU
ARE!
I did my 2011
membership renewal and dues as an early Christmas present to me from
me. 2011 Carnival Memphis events start in January & I won’t be
sweating another January bill along with the stack of Christmas time
expenses.
I encourage you to place yourself as a priority in the
December madness and renew now. Invitation lists to Carnival
events will be happening in January and we’ll need to provide the
current membership roll soon.
Someone will be calling to remind us all, and to get an
estimate in December for 2011 renewals. Please give them a
speedy yes and send the dues to get the books and budget set for 2011.
We will also need to notify Carnival of who goes on the Krewe invite
lists in January.
Upcoming Events will be coming fast and furious –
Get Ready for some Fun!
Ennead leads the Carnival season
with the first coronation and kickoff of the 2011 Carnival season.
Your new Royal Court will be announced and in Grand Krewe fashion
Ennead will start the Party With a Purpose for 2011.
In addition to our many Krewe Parties and events each
month, the entire Carnival schedule is about to crank up for 2011.
See the schedule located in this newsletter. The
Carnival
Schedule is also posted on our website for future reference.
Membership is everyone’s job and
defines the Quality of Ennead
The quality of our membership base drives the fun and the experiences
we all enjoy.
New members
- A big thanks to those who have brought their friends to join Ennead
or in some cases rejoined recently. The New Members Party was a
blast. I encourage you to continue to get to know and to nurture the
new member relationships we have recently begun as we meet in the
upcoming Ennead Gatherings. Existing members
– I hope that we all remember to spend as much attention in
letting the current membership know how much we value them.
Please take the time to let your fellow members know just how much you
appreciate the time they donate, the quality of the friendship they
provide, the many volunteer efforts of service, donations, membership
dues, decorating, registration service, royalty service, calling
committee work, board member service, and every other aspect of what
being an organization provides.
These efforts are what allow us to keep costs down and provide more
quality services to the membership. More importantly I want to focus
the remainder of the 2010 November and December attention upon
recognizing the awesome quality of the members we have now!
Make sure that we leave no man or woman behind in membership renewal,
and in recognizing and communicating the value we have for one
another.
From the Chairman – THANK YOU! For all
you do and are. I appreciate the wealth of talent and service you
provide to the enjoyment of us all!
A couple of words about the budget
and value of Ennead membership
Like all organizations, the quality of Bands, Parties, Decorations,
Food, Royalty support and all activities of the Krewe are impacted by
budget.
Whether we can have free drinks or a cash bar, whether we bring food
or have it catered, whether we have an awesome band or a so-so band,
and just how many events we can provide to our membership, quality of
our coronation, Royalty support and our infamous and renowned parties
are all affected by budget.
Your board and many activity committees are fully committed to
delivering quality services for the membership fees we provide.
Obviously the more members we have the more funds we have to work
with. Make no question about it though, the value and costs being
delivered are creative, and well managed.
We are blessed with an incredible amount of volunteer service to the
organization due to the generous donations of time, money, and talents
of our membership team.
Are you looking for an elegant evening in December?
Check out the Ennead Christmas Gala. Please make plans (RSVP by
Dec 10th) to join us for a classy evening to enjoy the
Holidays in style.
The Ennead Christmas event is being held at the Hilton this year.
Dress will be Black Tie optional and will feature a great meal and
entertainment by Howard Lamb's Orchestra. The
guest fee for dance only is $30, and the meal is $40. This is a great
event and guests are welcome.
