May has been a very busy month….just training ground for Carnival Week quickly approaching.  I would like to encourage all of our members to attend as many of the Carnival and Krewe activities as you can.  It is going to be a whirlwind of fun parties and events.  See the schedule in the newsletter for details.

Thank you, Marion, for hosting our wine party.  Your home is the perfect setting for parties.  If you would like to host a wine party, please contact Donna at 756-1716.

The Rules Committee sent out a special message on the proposed changes to the by-laws.  We have received a few positive comments and suggestions and the Ennead Board will take these under consideration before we vote at the next board meeting on June 15^th.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank David Everson, our Finance Committee Chairman, for filing our taxes this year.  He had high compliments on the reports that were prepared by our Treasurer, Julie Eaves.  Julie continues to do a great job keeping track of our finances.

The task of decorating all of our parties is always accomplished with unbelievable creativity.  We have a few ladies who have worked hard to make these miracles happen.  Many thanks go to Belinda Pittman, CC Myers, Joyce Hufford, and the many helpers who continue to weave their magic for our parties.

We have moved the 4^th of July party to Bill Hunt’s home this year.  We will fire up the grill and set up the bar for an early evening party.  Dan has booked Pat Register for dancing & entertainment and Bill has a swimming pool to dip into.  The guys are wanting a bikini and/or wet T-shirt contest….I have not heard what the gals have in mind for the guys yet.  Anyway you look at it; it should turn out to be a great party!  Bring a guest.  This will be a perfect party to introduce them to Ennead.  The other Carnival Krewes and Ennead former members will also be invited to join us.  Because of liability, Ennead will not provide fireworks, but I’m sure the sparks will be flying if the guys actually get that contest going.

Plans are underway for Ennead's 20th Anniversary Party to be held in September.  If you have contact information on any former Ennead member, please send it to Dottie Crihfield, lovelylawnlady@gmail.com or 848-5060.

Ennead needs you!  Everyone enjoys the parties, small group activities and membership benefits of Ennead.  Because of the many activities that Ennead offers, it requires a number of people to help plan and accomplish this task.  If you care about the continuation and the quality of our organization, please step up when asked to run for a board position.  I sincerely hope that each of you will consider the consequences that lack of interest in taking leadership roles will have on the future of Ennead.   This is a two year term, starting in August, and you must have been a member for at least one year.  It is a privilege to hold a board position, a lot of fun, and very rewarding.

Do you know someone who might enjoy membership in our krewe?  Invite them to our next event.

Wine Party - Friday June 18     7 pm  Hosted by Michelle Kornberger (home: 763-3345 or cell: 233-5121) 5696 Quince Road. Party will be held in the Yorkshire Condominium club house. NO PARKING IS AVAILABLE IN THE CONDOMINIUM COMPLEX. Please park across Quince Road in the parking lot of the former Jarret's Restaurant. Cross Quince Road. Go through the opening in the building to the parking lot. Turn right. Look for the pool on your left. Club house is located at the pool. Gentlemen please bring wine. Ladies please bring food.

Dinner Group - Saturday June 26 5:30 pm Drinks, 7:00 p.m. Dinner This month's dinner group will meet at the *new* Swanky's location at 4470 Poplar. This location was previously Atlanta Bread Company. Dinner will be on the patio. Please contact Mary Pat to let her know you will be attending so enough seats will be available.

Happy Hour - Wednesday June 30 5:30 - 7:30 pm Happy Hour this month will be held at Jim's Place East  located at 5560 Shelby Oaks. Look for us on the patio! In case of inclement weather, we will move inside.

July 4th Celebration - Sunday July 4   5 pm Our July 4th party will be held at Bill Hunt's. We will have an open bar, pool-side entertainment, hot dogs, hamburgers and all the trimmings. Guest fee will be $20.
