chair's comments

We had a successful Fundraiser for the children in March.  Not only did the party-goers have a good time, but, more importantly, we were able to raise money for some very deserving children.

The fundraising effort, however, is not over.   The Krewe is still selling Ennead shirts and mugs, with all proceeds over our cost going to the children’s charities.  Additionally, while some of our members who were not able to attend the Fundraiser mailed in a donation, others did not.  For those of you who did not mail in a donation or wish to give more, do not despair.  We shall continue to accept donations at our April and May events.

Many thanks to the chairman of the Fundraising Committee, Betty Reschenberg.  She had lots of help, but she was the “go to” person.  Some Enneadians who pitched in were Marta Vinzant; Jimmy Humphreys; Sara Qualls; Danny Bowlin; Kathy Jacobs; Tayloe Nickey; Mary Rea; Mike Beck; and, Nancy Williams.  Also, one of our newest members, Susanne Taylor, volunteered on the Fundraising Committee and quickly met some members of the Krewe who she did not know. Getting involved is key to making new friends. 

The list of Fundraiser helpers is too numerous to name everyone.  On behalf of the children, I thank everyone who worked and/or contributed monetarily to this noble cause.  It is a good feeling to share our time, talents, and treasure with someone who needs a “helping hand.” 

Spring is officially here.  With that, come the sneezing from hay fever and allergies and the whirring sound of pencils being sharpened by CPAs.  We also have some beautiful flowers and trees budding out.
